As promised. I'm doing another make up review! This time it's about my everyday make-up essentials from Nyx Cosmetics.
What got me into trying Nyx was the fact that it was in the list of cruelty-free brands with great reviews on its products. The next brand that I'm eyeing on is ColourPop as it's also a cruelty-free brand. It's just much easier to buy Nyx Cosmetics here in the Philippines that's why I'm sticking to it for my everyday use.
So here are a few items that I use everyday:
1. Nyx Matte but not Flat Liquid Foundation
What to love:
-it's oil-free and water-based, meaning it's great for oily to combination skin types. It minimized the occurrence of my breakouts even if I use make-up everyday.
-it has great coverage (full coverage) and lasts me almost the whole day. I hardly have to retouch especially when I'm travelling and I don't enjoy bringing a lot of stuff on my bag.
-true to its "matte but not flat" name. There are other liquid foundations that have a matte finish but I usually end up looking so dry all over, emphasizing some dry patches on my face. Not with this one. It feels and looks just like my natural skin.
-It's quite buildable; but I think a little goes a long way. I need not build up so much product on my face at all. I get enough coverage with one layer.
I apply it using this foundation brush or my beauty blender, depending on the look I want. Most of the time it's the brush though, as I get finished faster 😂😂
Here we have 3 shades: (L-R) Light beige, Nude & Soft Beige
My face isn't always staying in one shade and it easily goes from the light to a bit darker shade (esp. this summer) that's why I keep 3 shades.
There are at least 15-20 shades to choose from so go ahead and find the one that suits you!
Here's a close up on the swatches.
When it's blended. 😁
2. Nyx Cheek Contour Duo Palette
You have blush and contour powder in one!
Saves up so much space! Haha.
It does not come with a brush or its own mirror, which is sort of a down side.
Nevertheless, it's quite pigmented. So again, a little goes a long way.
Here's how it looks on my skin.
You want to choose a contour shade that is not too dark for your skin tone
as it may be hard to blend and adjust when you accidentally put too much.
There are other duo shades available but I chose this one since
the blush color is also the one I prefer.
3. Nyx Soft Matte Lip Cream & Nyx Lingerie
All four shades: Milan, London, Ruffle Trim & Cashmere Silk
Left: Milan; Right: London
I think the best-selling shade for the soft matte lip cream is the Cannes.
But I have plenty of lipsticks in that shade already so I went for the Milan and London instead.
These lippies last several hours on me and are so light on the lips.
Soft matte, indeed!
And now my faves! The Nyx Lingerie Liquid Lipstick ❤
Top: Ruffle Trim; Bottom: Cashmere Silk
Swatches: Top- Cashmere Silk, Bottom- Ruffle Trim
As its name suggests, these lippies glide on and stay like lingerie.
You won't even feel like you're wearing any lipstick!
My go-to shade is always the Ruffle Trim. ❤
This is how it looks when I tried removing it with wipes.
It hardly budged! It's great for long wear, like at the office or for a whole day trip.
Other products you might also want to try are the following:
-Liquid Suede Cream Lipstick
-Highlight and Contour Pro Palette
-Concealer Jars
-Lip liner pencils
So that's it!
Let me know if you also love using Nyx Cosmetics!
Keep posted!
My travel posts are coming! 😁
Love,
Lora
