Singapore Sample Itinerary (Part 2)

If you haven't read it yet, here's the part 1 of this post: Singapore Sample Itinerary. We went to Sentosa Island via the Singapore cable car, then went to Madame Tussauds, then spent the rest of the day enjoying Universal Studios Singapore! Do check it out.

While walking the streets of Singapore on the way to the famous Merlion.

Before heading to Singapore, I heard that you can view a Panda in one of their zoos. Seeing a Panda in real life has always been my dream! I'm just so in love with them and seeing a real one would definitely put a checkmark on my bucket list! That's why we just had to visit the Singapore Zoo and River Safari for our second day.

Day 2: Singapore Zoo + River Safari + Gardens by the Bay + Marina Bay Sands
The Singapore Wildlife Reserves (Singapore Zoo, River Safari, Night Safari) are quite far from the city. But there are plenty of bus routes that reach here. However, to avoid getting lost with the bus transfers, we opted to book a shared shuttle bus transfer with Klook. The bus goes around several bus stops in the city, and there are plenty of schedules that you can catch within the day. In our case, we departed from the hotel and walked to the nearest bus stop to catch the 9am trip. Book your tickets here: Wildlife Reserves City Transfers

I can't believe I actually wore this outfit. A panda shirt to really show my love for pandas. Hahaha. Boyfie told me that I looked like I was about to meet my favorite boyband or something. 😂😂😂
Panda #fangirl.

The Singapore Zoo and the River Safari are right beside each other. We went to the River Safari First since you can find the Panda there. We booked our tickets for both attractions via Klook and I must say, it saved us so much time! The line was super long when we arrived. Good thing we had our Klook vouchers ready and just headed to a self-service kiosk to redeem our tickets. Yey!

The Pandas were still over at the other end, so from the entrance we went first to see huge aquariums and various species for each featured river (River Nile, Ganges River, Yangtze River, etc.)

The first one to greet you at the Giant Panda Forest is this cute Red Panda. We were so lucky to take a photo! Most of the time it's camera-shy.

And off to the main attraction of my day! The Giant Pandas. You have to keep quiet while inside the Giant Panda Forest so I had to hold in my excitement a little bit! Hahaha. We went there during their feeding time which was around 11am to 12nn.

Just look how happy I am. I probably took a million photos and videos with them. (Jia Jia eating bamboo.)

There are two Pandas here, a male and female, namely Kai Kai (meaning victorious) and Jia Jia (meaning beautiful). Kai Kai was the more outgoing one. He naps and eats in full view of the visitors. While Jia Jia was a bit shy at first, but eventually stayed around to eat.

Meet Kai Kai! The lovable and charming panda!
He was really moving around and rolling over the whole time.

Right outside the Giant Panda Forest is a souvenir shop with all things panda. And a panda themed restaurant. Of course, we had our lunch here! Hahaha.

Besides the whole panda experience, we also tried the Amazon River Quest and Reservoir Cruise.

We then moved to the Singapore Zoo after lunch. There are plenty of shows and encounters that you can experience. Check out the details here: Explore Singapore Zoo. It was drizzling again when got there so we weren't taking much photos. We just enjoyed watching the animals. You can expect to see a white tiger, white rhino, African lion, pygmy hippo, kangaroo, a zebra, a giraffe and a whole lot more.

Around 3-4pm, we started heading back to our hotel since the lines at the bus and taxi stands were starting to get full. We were worried we might get back to the city much later due to the rain and traffic.

After a bit of freshening up and a quick outfit change, we then went off to our next itinerary for the day: our anniversary date night.

We decided to spend date night at Gardens by the Bay then have dinner with a view at the Marina Bay Sands Skypark. Both are just walking distance from each other.

We enjoyed the Supertree Grove outside, with all these mesmerizing and iconic man made trees of Singapore. Then we went up the Cloud Forest which had an indoor waterfall that looked so majestic!
There were a lot of tourists that time, and it kinda took away some of the excitement as you had to wait in long lines to get up using the elevator.

We also enjoyed the beautiful flowers at the Flower Dome just right next to the Cloud Forest dome.

We were starting to get a little hungry after all the waiting so we decided to start walking down to Marina Bay Sands and have some dinner.

The view while walking towards Marina Bay Sands from Gardens by the Bay.
It was quite a romantic walk, I must say! Haha

But here's where the trouble began. We had no idea at all on where to dine at Marina Bay Sands. Well, we researched some restaurants but didn't really decide on which one, plus the restaurants are spread in these 3 towers that are 57 floors high. Talk about overwhelming choices! Little did we know how hungry we would be when we'd arrive! I was getting a little cranky. Hahahaha. So we ended up scrambling around just to get to a restaurant that's fit for an anniversary dinner.

Thanks to a very accommodating concierge, we were able to get a table at Spago Bar & Lounge by Wolfgang Puck. It's at the top most floor of Tower 2 (accessible from Tower 2 or hotel lobby). It's got this amazing view and ambience plus an infinity pool at the back.

After dinner, we hurried to get to the Skypark Observation Deck, which is over at the top floor of Tower 3. We got our tickets from Klook, and so we had to redeem our tickets first at their redemption point (usually a store at the mall), before heading to the Skypark. Make sure to be there at least 30 mins before closing time which is around 10-11pm.

The view was amazing at the top! You get to see a stunning panoramic view of Singapore.
You can see the Flower Dome and the Cloud Forest right there!

I think it would've been nice to come here at sunset until night time. The view would've been nice too. But we just enjoyed the view and spent hours talking until it was closing time. I simply could not ask for more!

Here's the link to the tickets we booked via Klook: Singapore Gardens by the Bay and Marina Bay Sands Skypark.

Day 3: Merlion Park + Singapore China Town + Shopping

What is a Singapore trip without a photo of the Merlion? For a more scenic view, we took the bus from our hotel, then stopped by near the National Gallery Singapore and went for a walk around before heading to the Merlion Park.

When you can't resist taking an #ootd photo even while walking around.

Expect a lot of tourists in this area so just be quick in taking that shot to avoid the photobombers! 😂

Who did it better? Hahaha. Maybe I'm just bad at taking photos of other people.

More photos while we were there. Yup, that's Marina Bay Sands over on the other side.

You've probably seen this spot on Instagram. It's right beside/at the back of the Merlion Park when you're heading back to the nearest bus stop.
After Merlion Park, we decided to hop on the bus again and go pasalubong shopping!

First stop: Bugis Street

You can find here plenty of malls and street markets selling all assorted things, from food, clothes, souvenirs, cosmetics and even electronics. There are so many shops to choose from that sell at really affordable prices. My tummy was so happy too as there was a huge assortment of food at cheap prices!

This was sooooo good! Spicy noodles for lunch.

Next stop: Singapore Chinatown

This one was nearer our hotel. Another great spot to get affordable souvenir items and unique finds. There are also jewelry shops where you can purchase jade, gold and other jewelry at a lesser price, plus tax rebate.

The streets and the whole place was just so insta-worthy! Plenty of food stalls around too if ever you get hungry. 😅

Last stop: ION Orchard Mall

It's a mall for designer brands such as Gucci, Louis Vuitton, Kate Spade, Hermes and Longchamp.
We just went there for some window shopping, of course! But it was fun looking around.
Taking a photo with Doggy 240, "a multi-colored French Bulldog, made of painted bronze by the French painter and sculptor Julien Marinetti in 2014." There was plenty of other art and sculptures along Orchard Road. If you can't enjoy the high-end brands, then maybe you can enjoy the art.

After a long day of walking and shopping, we headed back to the hotel to pack and prepare for our flight home that night (it was actually at almost 12 midnight).

Tired but happy! Spent the remaining hours having dinner and resting at one of the lounges.

I hope this sample itinerary would be helpful on your trip to Singapore! This has been my most Klook-ed trip ever. Hahaha. Hassle-free indeed!

Let me know if what other places we should visit if we ever get a chance to visit Singapore again.
Until the next blog post!

Love,
Lora 💓

Am I a toxic person?: How to practice mindfulness

So a couple of weeks back, I asked some of my followers on what topic they'd like me to write about and one of the questions I got was this: "How do I know if I'm a toxic person? How can I avoid being toxic?" I found it interesting because a lot of people don't ever ask themselves that question. Often times we're looking for "how to deal with toxic people" but not so much about "how can I avoid being a toxic person" . So how do you know if you're a toxic person? Well to start off, what do we mean by "toxic person" ? Here's a list of some common signs : 1. They try to control you by guilt tripping . Common phrases most probably used is "Uy sis, favor. Cge na. Friends bitaw ta.", e ven though they know that what they're asking you to do is probably inconvenient or annoying for you. They can't take "no" and instead say things like "I've done so much for you a

Skincare Products & Tips for Acne-prone Skin

If there's one thing that has been affecting my confidence lately, it's probably my trouble with acne every now and then. I've been going back and forth with this acne problem for a year now , so I thought I might as well share with you some of the things I learned in this journey and some of the products that actually worked for me. Recent photo wearing make up. Notice the bumps on my cheeks 😐 This is intended for those who have just started getting a sudden surge of pimples and eventually, acne. It can be frustrating to see these tiny dots on your face when you've been so used to that clear, unblemished skin. Trust me, I had such clear skin before! But then life happens, and stress + pollution happens too. 😂 Don't let it get to you, though! Don't mind those people who have nothing to say but "uy, gibugas lagi ka" or "na unsa man na imong nawong? di ba hamis man na sauna?" . As if you don't look at the mirror and see th
